My first vision for a children’s book actually started about nine years ago while I owned a women’s clothing boutique. That’s a story for another day.

What stuck with me all those years was the idea of two fun-loving, adventurous deer exploring the world together and finding themselves in all sorts of situations.

For years, they lived only in my imagination.

Then one day, I finally decided to write the book.

The problem is that my brain rarely leaves anything alone.

Once I started writing, it felt like the story needed more. A lot more.

The two deer became Razzy and Rocco.

Then they needed a world to explore.

Then they needed friends.

Then those friends needed personalities and stories of their own.

Before long, Fableway Forest came to life.

What started as two adventurous deer grew into an entire forest filled with memorable characters, one very special tree named Lucky, and enough story ideas to keep me busy for years.

Naturally, instead of writing one book and calling it a day, I created a publishing schedule for myself.

A completely self-imposed publishing schedule.

Eight books.

Released between June and October.

Of this year.

Looking back, that may have been the moment things officially escalated.

Of course, the books led to websites.

The websites led to social media.

The social media led to marketing.

The marketing led to learning about publishing, email lists, ISBNs, and a hundred other things I never expected to know.

One small creative idea turned into a much bigger adventure.

And honestly? I’m grateful it did.

Although I should probably mention that somewhere along the way I also decided a witty romantic comedy series sounded like a good idea.

Because apparently eight children’s books weren’t enough.

So yes, things are a little wild over here.

But I’ve discovered that the best ideas rarely arrive one at a time. They tend to show up together, make themselves comfortable, and demand your attention all at once.

That’s exactly what happened here.

A simple idea about two deer became a forest.

The forest became a series.

The series became a dream.

And somewhere along the way, The Hedge Burner found its place too.

If you’re sitting on an idea you’ve been carrying around for years, maybe this is your sign to give it a chance.

You never know where it might lead.
